I’ve long maintained that public officials, candidates and activists should be able to back up their words with their records. Anyone who wants to be taken seriously in the political arena ought to have a “track record.”

Have you ever been struck by the irony that job applicants are expected to bring resumés to interviews, yet most candidates for public office are virtually silent about their backgrounds and qualifications?
To cover all my bases, I created two websites that explore my background—www.david-blomstrom.org and www.davidblomstrom.org. The latter is more focused on my political background and qualifications.
Brief Bio
Very briefly, I was born in South Dakota, served in the U.S. Navy, received a BS in ecology from Western Washington University (1983), then worked as a wildlife biologist in Alaska.
My life took a major turn when I began working for the Seattle School District in 1985. I became politically active about the time the Seattle Chamber of Commerce recruited the late retired general John Stanford to spearhead the privatization of Seattle’s public schools (~1995).
I created a series of political websites and ran for office five times, thrice for the Seattle School Board (1999, 2003 and 2007) and twice for Superintendent of Public Instruction (2000 and 2004). In 1999, I became the first school board candidate in history to make derelict principals a campaign issue. Amazingly, the infamous Garfield High School Principal Al Jones blew up in the Seattle Mafia’s face during my campaign.
I’m probably the only candidate for public office in the nation who uses my campaigns to attack Bill Gates—and I do it right in the bastard’s backyard. I’m also the only candidate who advocates the death penalty for George W. Bush & Co. for treason and war crimes.
In this race, I’m once again the only candidate who’s discussing the issues, which go far beyond the WASL. Unlike at least three of my opponents, I’m not wallowing in corrupt contributions and endorsements. What you see is what you get.
Please see the websites I cited above for more information.
E pluribus unum,
David Blomstrom—May 15, 2008
