One of the most important lessons I learned during my first campaign for public office in 1999 is that most citizens—including many who vote—are hopelessly apathetic.

Eventually, I gave up on the voters and just did my own thing. I put very little effort into raising contributions, began boycotting public forums (most of which are manipulated by the Seattle Mafia), etc.
But this time around, I’m putting more effort into raising contributions for a couple reasons. First, I have to pay a filing fee of $1,192.34. I paid it out of my own pocket during each of my previous campaigns for this office. But I just can’t afford it this time. Like so many U.S. citizens, I’m a victim of George W. Dumbass’ economy, the Teamsters and a thousand other bloodsuckers.
So I need a little help getting on the ballot. Also, I have a few ideas for publicity campaigns that require a little money.
For whatever it’s worth, I sense that people may be a little more involved during Campaign 2008. After two terms of George W. Dumbass, not to mention Governors Gary Locke and Christine Gregoire, Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels and on and on, we’re clearly going to Hell.
So if you want to make a difference, please get involved.
Contributions
The simplest way to contribute money is to click the button near the lower left corner of the page that says “Make a Donation.” It accepts PayPal and credit cards.
Please add a note stating that you’re contributing to my campaign. Please provide name and address (including state) with contributions over $25.00, and please add your occupation and employer’s name with contributions of $100 or more, as required by the Public Disclosure Commission.
To send a check, please address it to Blomstrom vs The Seattle Mafia, PO Box 95465, Seattle 98145.
I can’t remember what the maximum allowable contribution is offhand, but I believe it’s at least $500, far more than most of my supporters can afford. If I could merely persuade 100 people to contribute $15 each, it would be enough.
If you would like your name listed on my site as a contributor, I’ll be happy to create a special page for just that purpose. I’ll even allow you to include a statement and a link to a website. For example, if your primary interest is in fighting Microsoft, you might want to take a potshot at Bill Gates and link to some anti-Microsoft website.
Publicity
The corporate media are a lost cause, and the Internet is flooded with establishment operatives as well. You can help my campaign by merely talking to people about it. It would also be helpful if you could mention it in letters to the editor, on online forums and blogs, etc. Whenever you write about me on the Internet, please include a link to my campaign website—http://2008.seattle-mafia.org/—if you’re allowed to.
If time allows, I may create some special images for promoting my campaign and linking to my website. In the meantime, check out the invitation in the gray box below. Merely publicizing the Seattle Mafia would be a tremendous help.
Thanks!
E pluribus unum,
David Blomstrom—May 15, 2008
